What We know About Climate Change

The most important passage to me in "What We know About Climate Change" by Kerry Emanuel is on pg.59 when Emanuel was discussing how scientist created a science channel to relay information to the public. Emanuel States "Climate Scientist have developed a way forward that helps them to compare notes and test another's ideas and also creates a valuable communication channel. Called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change"(Emanuel 59).This shows how the findings of climate scientists are now open to the public. The public now knows more about climate change and global warming because of the facts and studies from different scientists and their viewpoints.
This passage was brought to my attention being that the public were only given pieces of information and now they have access to more of that information. But this passage did raise a lot of questions for me. For example will this information only be conveyed to United States Citizens? Would it be open to anyone in the world who wanted the opportunity? Would it be in different languages for those who don't understand English? I also wanted to know whether these scientific finding will be broken down into simpler terms so everyone will have the opportunity to understand. I feel that if you have an informative show than anyone should be able to understand it because then it wouldn’t really have any importance towards the public. In the way the reports on this channel is organized and worded it looks like you would have to know about their topic's background previously before you can fully understand.
